Undoing a Knot

Well at the moment, a day after I uploaded the video, it seems as if the Youtube video does not work. It says the video is still processing. So if you try to view the video, it will not work. I am currently trying to figure out this problem! Please hold on while I do so!

Keeping New Year's Bubbly

It's an important day tomorrow, (note when I say tomorrow, I mean the 31st, even though technically now if the 31st. But I write late at night, so to me tomorrow is the 31st.)

Anyway. Big day tomorrow. That's right, it's New Year Eve! And I'm bubbling with excitement! This new year should bring some interesting times. Hopefully some change. We've all had to go through a lot this year, let's see where another year bring us.

But without further ado, I made a video post for you all. I was craving the camera again. I needed to go nuts. So I went fairly nuts. Kept this one on the short side, since I should go to sleep.

Cleaning Sensation

Ha Ha! Sorry I haven't been posting, but I haven't been in the posting mood. I've been doing a lot of touching up and cleaning and remodeling this week on the basement that I haven't had the time to write.

Ok so time, thats a bit of a stretch, I mean writing doesn't take too long, but well it's more of the energy involved. That's what I'm lacking. Energy. But I should recharge soon! Luckily I'm like a lithium battery!

Fresh Out

Wrote an essay tonight. So quite frankly I'm typed out. I just don't feel like writing because it feels like I'm writing an essay. But still I must comment that I was done with my essay by 11. That alone is amazing. I don't know how I did it!

But I'm exhausted from track today. It made me so light headed it took a good hour and half or so for my head to feel back to earth. But I'm better now. Except for the fact I'm still up!

Winter Concert!

Exciting Day?

Yes. Quite exciting.

Why Jake Why!?

I think I've created enough suspense for one post. Well today was the day that since the fall concert, we have been training for in band. All the work we do each day, that one hour class, came down to this one moment. Everything we tried so hard to perfect and make sound like it was really a masterpiece came down to this very moment.

No pressure.

But like all good stories with a slightly relevant plot and lesson, our immense hard work payed off!

Yes. Let's recap shall we?

I'll just skip to the parts I was in because those are more important than the other parts because I wasn't in them.....

Just kidding.

So for starters, Ensemble sounded awesome! No real problem came to me (which isn't saying much since I have trouble sensing when something sounds bad) but nonetheless to me it sounded amazing! Then Womens Chorus was great! Then Jazz Combo did a good job too! It was difficult to hear how they were really playing since the speaker was going in and out. Still Nice Job! Then another Chorus came up...I get lost with all the choruses we have, but I did liek the next one that came out too! Then there was Men's Chorus which was very cool too! I liked The Lion Sleeps Tonight! Then I think another chorus went up, they did good too!

Ok then Quintet was up. I tell you the people in this are amazing. They all are the type with an ear for music. Their "Fluff Side Up" original was amazing! Let's see the concert Choir was on. Sadly I missed it because we drummers were getting ready for our drumline. But I caught a glimpse of My Candles and was happy :-D.

Then came our drumline. Keep in mind we had a very rough idea of what we'd be doing, so most of what we did was on the spot. But it came out nicely! We didn't really make too many mistakes. We had a hard time starting off, but once we got rolling it worked fine!

Now on to Concert Band! First we did Big Band Signatures which turned out great! We had had trouble with it, but I was told i didn't mess up so thats cool! Then the other peoples did E Banks and that was a nice song. Sounded amazing from backstage, and I heard TCW telling everyone they did great. Then we went on to Sleigh Ride.

This was my moment of truth. Sleigh Ride. I had been practicing the whip cracks for so long and it came down to this moment. (My melodramatic telling of this is amazing). Now during practice I had never gotten all the whip cracks right. I got the main ones down after some time. But there were two elsewhere in the piece that i had never gotten. So I had to try and get it this time.

Well the time came for me to do that whip crack, and Whack! I got it! I was so happy!!

With whip cracks and bass drumming over, the night ended. And the lights to the auditorium faded.

Much Like Myself

Ok so I was searching around Youtube last night, seeing if my blog has any competition (which is doesn't :-P), when I stumbled upon this kids video blog, or the PC term, vlog. So I watched it and I laughed. I mean this kid was definitely what I would have been like had such technology been around when I was his age. The things he does (change of voice, losing track of what he's saying) are all things I do! So in honor of Travis I feature his vlog on my blog!

Quickly Captured

Last night came around and I went to upload you a video. Well normally I just go on Youtube, click the upload video and its nothing. But last night I discovered a new feature that had been added to Youtube! Now when you click on Upload video you have a choice (got to love America),you can either upload a file from your computer, or you can now record from your camera directly to Youtube!

Well last night it was too late for me to want to try anything new there, so I let it be. But I came back to it today. I used the built in iSight on my iMac to record a little test. The first few times I tried to record it would end up recording. I got to press the cool button and all, but nothing happened. Then I let it go for awhile, then went back to it and tried again. This time it worked! So you can watch my test below if you like. no editing, yet amazingly no terrible errors on my part :-D

Anyway that seems like the start of something cool. Whose to say being able to edit the video won't be next? It does take a little bit to process though.

Sunday, the Foreshadowing of Monday

Well I missed you yesterday! I meant to but I got home late and was forced to bed by a certain someone ;-). Anywho, to make up for not having a video yesterday, I gave you one today! Thats right on a Sunday! Nuts..I know!

Ok and just for my own sake, you don't have to listen, I just want to record this somewhere:
Yesterday at the meet I ran a 1:40 600m. That got me a first place. That make Jake happy, except for the pain and exhaustion that came after. But after a few movies my hip feels fine.

Excuses, Excuses

Sorry sorry. Every time I get a chance to write something, it's late, I'm tired, or I got to do something tomorrow. Well this time I'm going with the I have to do something. I know it must be really pathetic to look here and just find a lame excuse each time, read my complaining of being tired and whatnot. So I greatly appreciate your total loyalty. Some People Make Me Smile

So a day filled with boring classes in school can lead to a lack of smiling. When your tired from school followed by track, it takes alot to make you smile. But I can always count on the Youtube community to bring a smile to my face. Here is a recent comment I have received on my Riverdance Video:

I means thats quite the comment. But the thing thats most appealing to me is his last line "you looked like a kid with down syndrom being attacked by small animals." Kingpinup's description of me is so utterly random. I question how he knows what that looks like. I hope he hasn't seen such a sight because thats saddening. Yes I understand that technically its highly offensive, but really small animals? How would anyone watch me try to riverdance and think of someone with down syndrome being attacked by small animals.

I dunno. But he is right "some youtubers are the biggest tards in the world," not excluding himself ;-) (That's right, right back at you Kingpinup)

Yea... Ok so I didn't feel like editing that video...

I'm sorry ok!? Today was busy with working on the basement and I think it will soon be done. Got the surround hooked up better, so that cable goes through the receiver as well. And now I got a new VCR so I can record stuff again.

Let's see what else. Well all the windows are in down here, so now I will be able to open the windows if it gets warm or something.

o..and Harry Potter was on tonight. It was addicting. So I watched enjoying the no work!

So yea... I didnt edit the video! Take that! Muhahahahahahaha!

Bad News

Well folks I was tired, but i still forced myself to do a video blog. So i did it, was editing it and all, then iMovie randomly quit, and being the bad person I am, I never saved it or had it auto save, sooooo i have to go back and re edit it. but i don;t have that much energy.

Maybe i'll edit it for tomorrow night or something.

Another Week Bites the Dust

Well another busy week of work has come to an end! Thank god.

And I actually get to enjoy this weekend..sorta.

tomorrow is of course the church fair thingy, so i get to wake up at 10 and help out there. that's a blast. Note the sarcasm.

Eh, it could be worse, but its kinda boring. It is entertaining managing the money and taking orders, and seeing the hungry eyes of the children.

But I am so completely and utterly exhausted and I don't have the energy to do anything. So I'm going. probably have more for you tomorrow!
